the latest Birkhäuser release Typolyrics is dedicated to the intense relation between typography and music. the nice people over at Magma Brand Design asked more then 170 designers from around the world to create a typetreatment based on a certain song and it’s lyrics.
Timm Häneke and myself designed a typetreatment to the german 80ties hit “Verschwende deine Jugend” by the infamous DAF using our very own monospace typeface HM Tilm.
beautiful & young & strong

Schaltkreis — III years anniversary. this needed to be something special. each poster is a unique item. thanks to Mike Gottlob who spend lots of hours in his attic each of the one thousand posters is handpainted with three white lines. hell of a job. happy birthday from HelloMe.

my favorite album of the year so far comes from the los angeles based duo High Places and is called High Places vs. Mankind. i saw their live show in cologne some days ago and was amazed by their new record. my personal album of the summer.

after an (in many ways) intense week i am now sitting alone in the studio. a good opportunity to listen to the new Four Tet album and write down some thoughts.

my dear friend Lorin told me about the event called Stilvorlagen they are organizing in Hamburg. Stilvorlagen is featuring some nice speakers such as Nicolas Bourquin from OnLab, Atak and Anschlaege. if you are in Hamburg make sure to be there.
and Lorin, i want one of these bags in reward— ;-)

i know the work of Dieter Rams has been all over the web in the past weeks and months. anyhow, in the past week i have been taking a deeper look into his work for Braun and Vitsœ and also into his design-theory which i think is quite remarkable and seems to be more relevant today then ever before. awe inspiring.

i am really looking forward to meet Glenn in about two hours. together we will take a step into UNDPLUS gallery tonight to see TOY’s berlin exhibition “TOY made one”.
i also really love the poster artwork designed by mister TOY himself Chris Gray.
